Long Walks

Status:Active, open to new members
Coordinator:
When: On Tuesdays
6-10 miles

The branch is fortunate in having an excellent hill-walking environment within close proximity of the town. This has resulted in the ‘long walk’ activity being popular within the Arbroath u3a and has about 15 members with 10 to 15 turning up for a walk. We meet at the Old Ladyloan School just off the A92 about 9am every second Tuesday during the school year and use shared private cars. The walks range from 6 to 10 miles and are graded as easy, moderate or strenuous and cover the areas of the Angus Glens, Fife and sometimes as far as Deeside. They finish around 3pm and members often go for a cuppa to round off the outing.

As the weather can be unpredictable, we use a WhatsApp system to update any changes to our schedule.  Walkers are advised to carry useful contact telephone numbers, basic first aid kit and a bus pass.

Videos of some of the walks can be accessed on youtube (www.youtube.com) and search for 'arbroath u3a'.
